I sit here waiting,

the hum of my laptop's fan the only sound,

yes, the only sound,

where there should be

the two-fingered chatter

of the keys

dancing a staccato ballet

to the symphony of my thoughts,

creating a masterpiece,

a novel,

short story,

hell, a shopping list,

anything!
