Gratitude

Where do I begin?
Three times in this life
I've almost 'shuffled off this mortal coil'.
As a baby I was touched by God's hand
as He guided the surgeon's.
As an adult, in a foreign land,
I planned the ending,
by my own hand.
E saved my life,
with encouraging words,
and friendship, through the darkest of days.
Thank you, E.
And three years ago,
in the midst of the 'madness'
I was wheeled under bright lights
into a sterile room
where people in gowns
and masks, with scalpels and gas,
once again saved a life that was teetering on the edge;
by the grace of God.
My gratitude is immense.
My gratitude is unending.
My gratitude asks, why?
My gratitude doesn't need an answer.
My gratitude is endless.

Paul, you might want to check back at the What's Going On? blog where you linked. Susan gave you a comment there because she could not comment on your site. I must admit I struggled again as well. Most of us are used to Wordpress or Blogger, so this site is unfamiliar. Anyway, check What's Going On? Maybe you can help Susan so that next time she can comment more easily. Mary
You really expressed very well the reasons you have to be grateful. And I am sure there are many more.
Oh yes, intense gratitude for the gift of life, renewed three times. So glad you pulled through, Paul. Thanks for linking at What's Going On?!! It is always lovely to see you.
